Hardselling
I had decided to go for one of their free trials. Their bye bye fat treatment. BEFORE they commence on treatment they will bring you into a room to hard sell you. There is no mention of commencing treatment before you agree to sign up. I thought that I would not be susceptible to their tactics because I personally was quite comfortable and happy with my body when I went in. And I had ZERO thoughts on losing weight via these weight loss schemes/treatments which I honestly felt was pretty much bullshit. It all comes down to yourself. Diet and exercise. That was my mindset..Eating healthy and exercising. Which I was doing prior to signing up and was losing weight pretty well myself. My BMI was in the normal range. My BMI was around 20ish. But then their fat and body shaming starts..
Body shaming
They will take pictures of you and start to point out flaws and make you feel like Shit even though you had felt pretty good about your body previously. They keep going on and on about it you start to think..yea maybe they are right and you need to work on those areas. BUT if you think clearly you can work on those areas by dieting and exercising yourself. But they will keep saying bad things about you and your body that you start to internalise their words.
Scare tactics
My thighs are my problem area and they showed me a picture of a middle aged lady with problem thighs. Her calves were really slim but the top was quite out of shape.. Then they told me my thighs will end up like hers if I did not do anything. It was a scary thought...which I did not honestly think would happen but it was another of their scare tactics. Then they start whipping out pictures of their customers that they claim to have lost weight through their treatments.
Unbelievable promises
They kept pushing and pushing and saying all these shitty things about my body and that they will help me and their treatments would help. Would help to detox my body as well..and got me to sign up for a SGD$11234 package with them. 30 bye bye fat sessions, 30 body shaping sessions and 30 spa capsule sessions.
Anticlimatic treatment & results
Only after I signed up they brought me to try their treatment. The bye bye fat treatment lasted abt 20min and it gives off a slightly warm feeling. They did not measure me after the treatment but the measured me before the treatment. In my eyes there was no change and I did not feel any slimmer or different.
Unethical
I walked out of the salon but I immediately regretted and I messaged them to get them to cancel the package and give me a full refund. They told me to come back the next day. When I went back to see them, instead of easily agreeing to refund me, they continued their hard sell. It was extremely hard to say no. I cried in front of them but they kept pushing. Making me feel bad about my body and they kept criticizing me then saying they could help me. When I did not think I needed any help in the first place. Is this even ethical? Pushing me to not cancel even after I cried and was in distress and obviously did not want the package. Then they told me they would half my cost and half the treatment, but offer a more effective/better treatment. 5 bye bye fat sessions, 10 wave lipolysis, 15 body shaping and 15 spa capsule for SGD$5617. I wanted to cancel the whole package but I was pressured and I would say literally coerced into signing up for this new offer. They made me sign a paper to say I could no longer ask for any refunds with this new offer. It was late and I was not thinking straight after almost 2 hrs in that little room being pushed and criticized.
Misselling
So I started going for their treatments. Firstly, let's cut the bullshit. They make it seem like they sold you a total of 45 different sessions/treatments. They explain it like body shaping and spa capsule are 2 different treatments. But the body shaping and spa capsule is essentially the same thing. Their idea of body shaping is smearing a cream over your body and wrapping you up in cling wrap. Then they ask you to lie in a space capsule like machine that uses infrared rays on your skin. So it is essentially ONE treatment but they make it sound like two separate things.
Lying in that capsule exposing your skin (well they cover you with towels after you lie down) but still, exposing yourself to infrared light or whatever light that is inside...I let you think for yourself if that is good for your skin.
20minutes of bye bye fat (or wave lipolysis) followed by half and hour in the capsule for $374.50 each session. It is definitely not worth it. $374.50 PER SESSION. You can get 2 months gym membership for that.
If you go to the gym for 2 months you will definitely lose weight and see improvement to your muscle tone and skin tone I feel. One session of Dorra does NOTHING.
