REVIEW ON DORRA SLIMMING SINGAPORE PART TWO -DON'T JOIN!!!!-

My Dorra Journey (The Start)

Hardselling
I had decided to go for one of their free trials. Their bye bye fat treatment. BEFORE they commence on treatment they will bring you into a room to hard sell you. There is no mention of commencing treatment before you agree to sign up. I thought that I would not be susceptible to their tactics because I personally was quite comfortable and happy with my body when I went in. And I had ZERO thoughts on losing weight via these weight loss schemes/treatments which I honestly felt was pretty much bullshit. It all comes down to yourself. Diet and exercise. That was my mindset..Eating healthy and exercising. Which I was doing prior to signing up and was losing weight pretty well myself. My BMI was in the normal range. My BMI was around 20ish. But then their fat and body shaming starts..

Body shaming
They will take pictures of you and start to point out flaws and make you feel like Shit even though you had felt pretty good about your body previously. They keep going on and on about it you start to think..yea maybe they are right and you need to work on those areas. BUT if you think clearly you can work on those areas by dieting and exercising yourself. But they will keep saying bad things about you and your body that you start to internalise their words.

Scare tactics
My thighs are my problem area and they showed me a picture of a middle aged lady with problem thighs. Her calves were really slim but the top was quite out of shape.. Then they told me my thighs will end up like hers if I did not do anything. It was a scary thought...which I did not honestly think would happen but it was another of their scare tactics. Then they start whipping out pictures of their customers that they claim to have lost weight through their treatments.

Unbelievable promises
They kept pushing and pushing and saying all these shitty things about my body and that they will help me and their treatments would help. Would help to detox my body as well..and got me to sign up for a SGD$11234 package with them. 30 bye bye fat sessions, 30 body shaping sessions and 30 spa capsule sessions.

Anticlimatic treatment & results
Only after I signed up they brought me to try their treatment. The bye bye fat treatment lasted abt 20min and it gives off a slightly warm feeling. They did not measure me after the treatment but the measured me before the treatment. In my eyes there was no change and I did not feel any slimmer or different.

Unethical
I walked out of the salon but I immediately regretted and I messaged them to get them to cancel the package and give me a full refund. They told me to come back the next day. When I went back to see them, instead of easily agreeing to refund me, they continued their hard sell. It was extremely hard to say no. I cried in front of them but they kept pushing. Making me feel bad about my body and they kept criticizing me then saying they could help me. When I did not think I needed any help in the first place. Is this even ethical? Pushing me to not cancel even after I cried and was in distress and obviously did not want the package. Then they told me they would half my cost and half the treatment, but offer a more effective/better treatment. 5 bye bye fat sessions, 10 wave lipolysis, 15 body shaping and 15 spa capsule for SGD$5617. I wanted to cancel the whole package but I was pressured and I would say literally coerced into signing up for this new offer. They made me sign a paper to say I could no longer ask for any refunds with this new offer. It was late and I was not thinking straight after almost 2 hrs in that little room being pushed and criticized.

Misselling
So I started going for their treatments. Firstly, let's cut the bullshit. They make it seem like they sold you a total of 45 different sessions/treatments. They explain it like body shaping and spa capsule are 2 different treatments. But the body shaping and spa capsule is essentially the same thing. Their idea of body shaping is smearing a cream over your body and wrapping you up in cling wrap. Then they ask you to lie in a space capsule like machine that uses infrared rays on your skin. So it is essentially ONE treatment but they make it sound like two separate things.

Lying in that capsule exposing your skin (well they cover you with towels after you lie down) but still, exposing yourself to infrared light or whatever light that is inside...I let you think for yourself if that is good for your skin.

20minutes of bye bye fat (or wave lipolysis) followed by half and hour in the capsule for $374.50 each session. It is definitely not worth it. $374.50 PER SESSION. You can get 2 months gym membership for that.

If you go to the gym for 2 months you will definitely lose weight and see improvement to your muscle tone and skin tone I feel. One session of Dorra does NOTHING.

    1. Singapore has the Lemon Law in place whereby you can cancel within 7 days. If they do not let you do so, report to CASE

    3. Hi all,
I had bad experiences from Dorra too. I signed up for nearly RM25k for all byebye fats, water retention, and detox.
      Their strategy is simple.
At first, you need to reduce your fats. When your weight didn't drop, they said is because u have terrible water retention issues.
Then didn't slim again, your toxic level is too high for your body.
And they will sell you other products like essence to boost your metabolism, or detox drink, or water retention cereals.
When you in the middle of it, you will feel like you need it, since you already paid for the treatment, you will want it to see the results, that's how I got into endless cycle.
I still have balance of around 10x treatment, so I thought I should go n finish up since I paid for it, and again, they ask me to sign up new package, as I am really needed it!
And after reading all reviews, I rather burn all money than my fats, will not go back to have those mental torture again.

  3. I faced about the same problem. I purchased a voucher from one of their promotional booth. The girl who sold me the voucher claims that it just like a massage and that there is no hard selling.

However, when I went to the outlet at Tiong Bahru Plaza, they did the same thing to me - go to a room etc. Many times during the I told the consultant Christine that I don't want the $8/- treatment anymore but she refused to let me out.

Finally, I left the place on the pretext of going to the restroom but not before I left my jacket in their safekeeping (they wanted me to leave my bag but I refused.) After walking around for 5 minutes I returned to ask for my jacket and refused to do ANY MASSAGE or Treatment. Of course they still tried to convince me until I threaten to call the police if they do not return my jacket and let me go.

This company is very scary in the way they hard sell.

  4. oh man i read this and felt like i should share my experiences.. i heard from 933 station on doraslimmimg and decided to give a try... i went with an expectation of signing 5k or so but ended up with a 15k instalment. ok i believe in them but after 4 mths my weight didnt dropped. my size didnt dropped.. and i have to drink close to 4l of water everyday which is a struggle for me.. when the treatment dont seemed to work, they say its the food i am eating.. and im not drinking enough water.. ok.. so the things they say no need to diet is really not true... no slimming works without a diet.. the thing is they r also trial and error with your body.. so byebye fats doesnt necessarily work on everyone.. so they intro more different package to see if it works.. ok i understand everyone is different and they have trained specialist to advise on the different treatments but you trial and error at ny expense and so far it didnt work for me.. each time i step on the weighing machine i feel discourage.. i guess out of 100 customers maybe only 10 will get to slim down.. the rest.......... they probably dropped out or give up... and this 10 will continue to promote for them.. its sad because just how many girls get caught in this... theres just no easy way to lose weight... i ended up with 30k instalments..

  5. Thank you for your review. I read your reviews when I was massaged on the bed inside their place at Tiong Bahru. I realised that I was treating same as yours and decided to get out without any buying more than the voucher. Of course it was so difficult as they never let customer go easily without buying any more things. Thanks! I am concerning whether they took pictures of my body and put on the book to show everyone like they showed other’s pictures to me. I already told them and they said people agreed for that. But now I realised that I had to sign some in the ipad they gave me, which are in small size letters and cannot read all, they said it’s just registered information as every client. Such seller should not be in Singapore.

  8. Don't every buy any vouchers or accept any free treatment offer from Dorra. I once bought an $8/- voucher (seeing the promoter who looks like a school kid working part-time is desperate to sell the last piece to call it a day.) The promoter told me to treat it like a massage session and so I went up to the Dorra centre (in Tiong Bahru Plaza)

Like what one of the author here says, they make me stay in a room and hard sell, wanted to take photo of tummy, thigh etc but I refused. Spent almost 1.5 hours hard selling, criticizing my body and use every tactic . They are so persistent to the extent that even when I subsequently refused to even go for the free treatment, the so called consultant refused to let me go.

Finally, i made an excuse to go washroom. Guess what, the consultant to keep my bag and jacket in the locker. I only allowed her to hold on to my jacket. After making a trip up and down escalator, I went back to ask for my jacket and at the same time inform them that I don't want to have the $8 treatment. They just refused to let me go and keep on pestering until I threaten to call the police !

I have since been receiving messages about some lucky draw etc and came to realize that Dorra is related to London Weight Management. Just beware of all these lucky draw winning

  10. Did anyone know can refund the money ?

  11. I had the same experience some years ago. Yes, when you go for trial treatment, they will pressure and hardsell you on package and WOULD NOT let you go until you sign. Fortunately for me, I asked to go to the washroom (before signing.) You know what, they wanted to hold on to my bag but I only allowed them to keep my jacket. After making a walk around the building ( Tiong Bahru Plaza) I went back and demanded for the return of my jacket while refusing to sign the package. True enough, they did what they did, tried to < drag > me into the room to hardsell and tried to convince me to sign. Finally, I got away without signing when I threaten to call the police on them

    So BEWARE OF DORRA
